Blarry House Research is searching for open and expressive people who like to share their opinions in focus groups and earn some additional spending cash for their time and opinions. “Focus groups are informal discussions consisting of about ten people brought together to test a new product, evaluate an existing concept, or to share opinions on a variety of issues.”

I must warn that although the registration form is only a little bit lengthy it’s also counterintuitive which makes it tough especially for those with many children. Some of the topics they cover consist of computer software and hardware, ideas for new video games, taste testing which is another form of product testing, naming new food products, traveling, healthcare and telecommunications.

They state that the discussions usually last from 1 1/2 to 2 hours, require no training and you are paid $40 to $150 for your time, depending on the topic. Everything discussed in the focus groups is kept completely confidential; you can view their privacy page which is quite solid IMHO.

I became a member in November, 2004 without much expectation but within a month that had all changed. They sent me an email with and when it arrived I didn’t remember that I had joined them or who they were. I knew I had joined over 100 market research companies over the previous few months but I had to do some checking to find out when I had joined them and who they were.

In the email they asked me to supply some general information that I usually have to provide whenever I become a member of a paid surveys website, however I knew at that time that I was already a member of their site; I filled in the information again nonetheless.

The next morning I received a confirmation email telling me I was eligible to participate in a telephone interview about inkjet printers, that it would take lo longer than 10 minutes and I would be compensated $150 for doing so. The next morning I took the interview, it lasted only 4 minutes and within a week my check had arrived.

This was obviously a great experience for me and since that time I’ve had only three more invites to participate and were for amounts of $40 (30 minute online focus group), $75 (another printer teleconference) and $200 for a special 3 day online focus group that required me to log in once each day and post my thoughts on the subject of stress (this took about an hour over the three day period which I thought was very painless for the compensation offered).

Overall, being a member of this website has been nothing but pleasing to me and that’s why I rate this as an outstanding work from home opportunity. Two thumbs way up! By the way, you must be 13 to join.
