They have a cool little site that looks like its cheesy flash intro was done in swish but that’s not what matters when looking for a good surveys company. This one is alright in my opinion but only for serious survey takers because they don’t sent out many invites (don’t expect more than one each month) and the ones they do have been difficult for me to qualify for or were for a prize draw that I wouldn’t have wanted to take anyway.

The one survey I recall doing for them was a 12 minute one that I not only qualified for but completed in the suggested time frame and they sent my check for $5 much sooner than their “please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery” would have lead me to believe. Hey, it was only five bucks but I take the timely payment by these companies very seriously.

Reel Surveys is a division of HCD Research, a marketing and communications research company that was founded in 1991. They claim to contact you by email or SMS (Short Message Service) but I’ve found that they tend to prefer contact by SMS to your cell phone, so if you don’t have one or don’t feel completely comfortable sharing that delicate information with a paid surveys company then I’d suggest that you look to other surveys in out database. However, they do make unique claims such as getting paid to view new movie trailers even before the general public can see them in the theaters.

This is a company that’s been in business for 15 years now and that helps a little with their credibility but I must admit that in my experience I’ve only received three surveys thus far and they were all surveys I didn’t get the chance to complete because I wasn’t near a computer at the time and they arrived via my cell phone and not as follow ups by email as this company suggests.

All in all, it’s very difficult to get a gauge of Reel Surveys because I just don’t have enough information to base an educated opinion on but they may come around and if they do I wanted to include them in my database but once again remember that you’re required to supply your cell phone and that’s highly sensitive info for some people.

They pay cash without delays as they send checks when requested from the funds in your account. One other neat thing about these guys is that even though they state that “your account will be credited $x amount of dollars within two weeks”, I’ve found that the money is usually available in your account as soon as you’re finished with each survey, at that point you may request the check which usually arrives in about a week or two.
